Jan ’10 - Workshop on counselling tools: dog training and drama
Since the beginning of December, we have the pleasure of having Ms Aymeline de Cartier volunteer for two months in Harare. She’s a Belgian psychologist specialized in therapy through caring for animals (mostly horses and dogs) and drama. She has been trying out several techniques of drama and caring for dogs at both Chiedza and Oasis, and we thought it would interesting that she would present her best practices to counsellors or volunteers from the other organisations. Chiedza Child Care Centre has kindly agreed to host these trainings.
Therefore, we have the pleasure of inviting you for these two half day workshops, from 8.30 to 12.30, at Chiedza in Waterfalls:
- Thursday 28th of January: regarding how to use dog training exercises as a tool for counselling
- Friday 29th of January: regarding exercises of drama and theatre for therapeutic purposes. This session might also include a brief presentation of the tool of Circle of Courage, seen by counsellors in Pretoria last December (facilitated by Tendai).
These workshops will be facilitated by Ms Aymeline de Cartier and the counsellors from Chiedza. Lunch will be provided at the end of the workshop (12.30). Participants will receive 3USD per day for transport, covering public transportation costs. Each organisation can send up to 3 counsellors per workshop. Please let Bruno know by Tuesday 26th of January 2010 how many people will be attending (bruno@volensafrica.org or 0913 026 198).
