Our way of seeing the world (our vision)

Volens draws its inspiration from the liberating message of the Gospel and that’s why it believes in the equality of men and their power to contribute to a fairer world and a society in which everyone’s rights are respected.

We strongly believe in the power of edification of those who, from their identity and their reality engage in a common action, unite their forces in this respect, share the same struggle and mutually strengthen each other. This is what we want do in the south with the help of partner organisations based in Latin America, in the Caribbean and in Africa. In the North, we rely on an alliance with solidarity groups and many other organisations.

Due to these principles:

  • we stand by populations of excluded or marginalised groups in the South and we support them in their quest towards self-determination, autonomy and development.
  • We believe that inclusion, diversity, broad-mindedness, democracy and participation are key notions and we wish to apply them to ourselves as well.
  • We want to be recognised for the quality of our partnership and our work.
  • We aspire to have a strong social establishment in the North and the South so we can work with others for a peace based on principles of justice, solidarity and love.
