Sept ’09 - Workshops on creative arts in group counseling

Parties interested in implementing newly developed methodologies involving creative arts in group counseling, are invited to participate in the practical workshops listed below. Such parties may be artists, counselors, social workers, managers as well as funders. Participants will gain insight in the proposed methodologies, acquire practical implementation skills, and be provided with information on how to document and measure results and impact.

Tuesday 1 September 2009 – 8.30 am to 4 pm : 1 day workshop hip hop and counseling
Venue : Zimbabwe-German Society, 51 Lawson Avenue, Milton Park, Harare
Dress code : sports attire - participants will be required to dance.

Tuesday 8 September 2009 – 8.30 am to 4 pm : 1 day workshop capoeira + acrobatics and counseling
Venue : Zimbabwe-German Society, 51 Lawson Avenue, Milton Park, Harare
Dress code : sport attire - participants will be required to try some basic physical exercises.

Tuesday 15 – Thursday 17 September 2009 – 8.30 am to 4 pm : 3 day workshop poetry and counseling
Venue : Volens Officer, Agriculture House, 1 Adylinn Road, Marlborough, Harare
Dress code : casual.

Morning tea and lunch will be served.

Volens accepts a maximum of 20 participants for each workshop whereby preference is given to members of the Volens network of partner organizations. Interested parties are requested to contribute a cost recovery fee of US 20 per person per workshop day. However, participation is free for members of the Volens network of partner organizations and for members of parties with whom Volens has signed a formal agreement. (Note that Volens does not provide per diems, and will not refund transport to and from the workshop venue).
